Robi Reed

Robi Reed is an Emmy Award Winning casting director and producer with 30 plus years of experience in the entertainment industry. She is responsible for launching the acting careers of Jamie Foxx , Queen Latifah, Halle Berry, Rosie Perez, Beyonce Knowles, Derek Luke, Wesley Snipes, Samuel Jackson, Mekhi Phifer and others. She cast Denzel Washington’s directorial debut in The Antoine Fisher Story with break out sensation – Derek Luke as well as classics like Love Jones, The Best Man, Spike Lee’s School Daze, Mo Betta Blues, and Malcolm X. More recently, her work casting the critically acclaimed mini series -The New Edition Story as the current VP of Talent and Casting for BET Networks is added to her extensive resume. As a member of The Casting Society of America, she received the coveted Artios Award for her work on Lee’s Malcolm X. She has been nominated for a total of three Emmy Awards over the span of her career in casting and won the Emmy for The Tuskegee Airmen story with Laurence Fishburne. She is a member of The Television Academy and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She is also the Chairman of the Board for a California-based charity committed to community health and wellness.
